Atlona + Shure
Shure MXN5W-C loudspeaker control via Atlona Velocity
In this post we will share our insights into controlling the Shure MXN5W-C networked ceiling loudspeaker via Atlona Velocity. Great advantage of controlling the Shure loudspeaker via Atlona by controlling internal DSP is that it will make for an easy single wire installation, without the direct need for a dedicated (external) DSP unit, like the Shure P300, which by the way is already available in Velocity.
To make it work in Atlona Velocity we must create a two-part implementation, consisting of a driver and a (room) macro. Working together this will make for a fast direct-control of the speakers built-in DSP.
In order to help users navigate their way around the different cables available today, we have created an extensive comparison chart of USB Type-C cables. The chart mainly focuses on longer cables, passive as well as active. In this comparison you can find details about important functions like; DisplayPort alt mode, charging, data throughput as well as backwards compatibility.
